Mr. Tong has prepared, filed, and prosecuted numerous utility, continuation, and design patent applications as well as federal trademark applications. Mr. Tongs clients come from a broad range of industries, including gaming device, medical device, printer cartridge remanufacturing, video games, and golf equipment design and manufacturing.
Mr. Tong has served as General Counsel and In-house IP Counsel for industry leading companies. In these capacities, Mr. Tong built their IP portfolios, conducted brainstorming sessions with their inventors, designed and implemented IP review systems for their products so that IP infringement risks are minimized, and prepared various types of IP agreements.
On a regular basis, Mr. Tong conducts telephonic interviews with USPTO Examiners, prepares claim amendments and office action responses, renders invalidity or infringement opinions, and performs patentability and infringement studies.
Mr. Tong has substantial experience in litigating unfair competition, non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, and patent, trademark, copyright, and trade dress infringement cases.
When Mr. Tong was attending law school, he earned the First Honors Award for achieving the highest grade in Patent Law Prosecution. He also served as Staffwriter for Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review.
Mr. Tong regularly writes and lectures on Intellectual Property Law.
