Tingting Zhang, Ph.D., is President and Founder of The TerraCotta Group LLC, a specialized real estate finance company that offers equity-based commercial real estate lending, residential mortgage lending, and other customized real estate-related services. Prior to establishing The TerraCotta Group, Dr. Zhang was a senior consultant for one of the worlds leading risk consulting and advisory firms, where she conducted political and economic risk analyses for senior executives of global financial companies and such Fortune 500 companies as Citigroup, AIG, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Deutsche Bank, and Bear Stearns.
She has also consulted for the National Intelligence Council of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and contributed to the development of the Deutsche Bank-Eurasia Group Stability Index (DESIX), the first political risk index on Wall Street specifically designed to measure stability in emerging markets. The DESIX provides an "early warning" system that helps anticipate critical trends and provide a measure of a countrys capacity to withstand political, social, security and economic shocks.
Dr. Zhang has contributed to a number of research projects that were featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Newsweek, and The Economist. She also has appeared on CNN, NBC Nightly News, CNBC,and KTLA-TV (Los Angeles), and in interviews in The Los Angeles Times and The L.A. Daily News. She has written and published extensively on the subjects of public finance, central-local relations, and environmental issues in developing economies.
Prior to relocating to the U.S., she was a newscaster for Shaaxi Television Network, where she wrote, produced, and hosted a weekly news analysis program.
Dr. Zhang was born in the Chinese province of Xian, the location of the Terracotta Warriors, for which her company is named.
