BUSINESS BIO:
Mauricio is a multicultural and bilingual business, corporate and real estate attorney, negotiator and dispute resolution strategist licensed to practice law and actively representing clients in Mexico and California. For over 15 years, he has successfully represented U.S. and Mexico corporations, private equity funds, resort developers, and investors in (a) the structuring, acquisition, and disposition of domestic and international corporate, commercial, and real property investments; (b) the design and implementation of cross-border contract negotiation and dispute resolution strategies; and (c) distressed transactions and insolvency proceedings involving Mexico and U.S. laws and international treaties. In addition, he constantly advises clients on how to successfully do business in Mexico in compliance with Mexico, U.S. and international laws and regulations, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Among other things, Mauricio has worked at Ballard Spahr, LLP, SAI Consultores, S.C., and White & Case, S.C.; and is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the American Resort Developers Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (current Vice Chair).

PERSONAL BIO:
Mauricio is a graduate of the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, Mexico, where he obtained a degree in Business Administration in 1997 and in Law in 2001 (summa cum laude). In 2006, Mauricio obtained a Master of Law in Dispute Resolution degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution, Malibu, California.
