BUSINESS BIO:

Manny Medrano is an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist and accomplished trial attorney. His Los Angeles law firm, Medrano & Carlton, represents and advises clients in a broad range of criminal defense and civil business litigation. The firm has extensive experience in high profile and complex cases involving allegations of securities fraud, bank fraud, wire and mail fraud, racketeering, embezzlement, drug trafficking, domestic and international money laundering, criminal tax violations, violent crimes (including homicide), domestic violence, DUI, among other charges.

Before founding Medrano & Carlton, Mr. Medrano was a complex business litigator for Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, and also served as a federal prosecutor in the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney's Office. He tried 60 cases to verdict, never losing a jury trial, and tried numerous precedent-setting cases, including the 1985 kidnapping, torture and murder of DEA Special Agent Enrique Camarena in Mexico, for which he received the prestigious Department of Justice Director's Award for Superior Performance. Mr. Medrano has served as an adjunct law professor at the University of Southern California, Loyola University, Pepperdine University and Southwestern University. He has also taught as a visiting faculty member at the Harvard Law School's nationally-recognized Trial Advocacy Workshop.

Mr. Medrano is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He has distinguished himself as an Emmy award-winning reporter/anchor for KTLA News and KNBC News in Los Angeles, and is a former member of the prestigious ranks of the U.S. Supreme Court press corps, where he served as a Supreme Court/Legal Affairs correspondent for ABC News in Washington, D.C. He appears regularly as a legal commentator on network and local television and radio programs, including CNN, NBC, MSNBC, KTLA and NPR. He has also been profiled and quoted in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

Mr. Medrano is an expert in leadership, team building, workplace diversity, motivating individual performance and overcoming adversity. He is a nationally-recognized business and professional speaker who has addressed America's top corporations, business entities, law firms and universities, as well as non-profit organizations and government agencies.

Mr. Medrano is active in numerous charities, and has received numerous awards for his work benefiting the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Center for State Courts and Goodwill Industries of Southern California, and the Board of Trustees for Antioch University Los Angeles.

PERSONAL BIO:

Manny resides in Glendale with his wife and two young sons. He grew up in El Paso, Texas, and is fluent in Spanish. Manny is a former professional musician (violin/viola) and competitive junior tennis player. Despite years of therapy, he remains a steadfast and unwavering Los Angeles Clippers fan.
