President's Message
September 2008
Dear Members,
It seems like only yesterday that I wrote my last president's message wishing everyone a great summer. It's now a week after Labor Day, and we're already headed into fall. In another three weeks, it will be time to turn our clocks back an hour. That's actually good news, because it will be lighter in the morning when you wake up, which should make it easier for you to attend your favorite morning All Cities Network group (or groups) in daylight hours
On Friday, September 26 our second commercial real estate group will hold its debut meeting at the law firm of Levinson, Arshonsky & Kurtz, located at 15303 Ventura Blvd #600, Sherman Oaks, in the Sherman Oaks Galleria. Our new moderator is Jay Bartlestone. Please do not forget to R.S.V.P. for this new group to Jay at his email address
jay@privatefinancinggroup.com.As I have been mentioning at All Cities meetings, if you're a member of and support a particular charity, please furnish me with a couple of paragraphs about your charity, and we'll post the information on the website's "Donate to Charity" page. Plus, part of the proceeds of our group mixers will always be donated to each of the charities listed on the website. It's All Cities' way of DOING GOOD. (AND ISN'T THAT A GREAT NETWORKING TIP?)
On August 18, the All Cities Network hosted a Saturday night dinner party in a private room at Wolfgang Puck's Chinois on Main restaurant in Venice, California. Twenty-two moderators, hosts, and their spouses were there to celebrate. The party started at 7:30 p.m., and we closed the restaurant down sometime after 11:00. Please view the pictures of this great night on the All Cities Business & Finance Group home page at
http://www.allcities.org/acrg.htmGOOD NEWS! After running the numbers, it appears All Cities Network membership is up 40 percent over last year. Thank you to all the members who are making the All Cities Network a top-flight organization
And...what would a President's Message be without big news from our Media Group? Moderator Joel Eisenberg has cultivated a relationship, for All Cities Media members
exclusively, with a $225 million film fund. That is not a misprint. At this moment, more than thirty All Cities Media member projects are under consideration for the fund to finance in full. Can we possibly do any better than this? I ask a second question: What better time could there be to join the All Cities Network?
One last message: The Commercial Finance Conference of California (CFCC) would like to have a joint mixer with All Cities sometime in November or December. It will be held in the evening at the Universal Sheraton in Studio City (next door to Universal Studios). The CFCC's membership is similar to the All Cities Network and includes accountants, attorneys, bankers, lenders and related services in the field of finance. I will keep you all informed as to the date.
More later ...
