BUSINESS BIO:
Marcelo Bermudez is the President of Figueroa Capital Group. He currently specializes in structuring commercial real estate debt, mezzanine and in-house or retained equity options for investors, brokers, and developers across the nation. He also works with incorporated cities to create value and find public/private opportunities for community redevelopment. He maintains extensive relationships with insurance companies, pension funds, foreign institutions, private equity firms, banks, REITs, investment banks and real estate principals throughout the United States.

PERSONAL BIO:
Marcelo is a graduate of the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business and the Lusk Center Stan Ross Program in Real Estate. He is the President of the USC Marshall School of Business Alumni Association Los Angeles Chapter for 2009-2011.

He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Asian Professional Exchange, All Cities Resource Group, and was a team member for the Urban Plan project by ULI.

Now celebrating his 22nd year as an Ambassador for the Fulfillment Fund, Marcelo is a member of the Leadership Council, a mentor, and has been part of the Scholarship Selection Committee. Marcelo was recently presented with the Sherak Inspiration Award for his commitment to excellence and community.

Marcelo enjoys running, hiking, playing the piano and creating music in his digital audio workstation and studio. He travels to Spain as much as possible to visit friends, enjoy the quality of life, and explore the country. Marcelo experiments with old and new cooking recipes and can be normally found standing in front of his grill with tongs in hand and a kitchen towel sticking out of his back pocket while tending to some sort of culinary creation. He credits his passion for food to his travels and to Chefs Gino Angelini and Jason Travi. Marcelo hopes to own a small tapas locale or specialty butcher shop and charcuterie somewhere in Spain in his twilight years.
