BUSINESS BIO:
Luke V. McCarthy is an attorney with the Pasadena firm of
Moore & McCarthy, LLP. The firm specializes in tax, real
estate, family law, corporate, and securities. He is a
principal of Madison Realty Equities, LLC, a real estate
development and management company. He is a past president
and co-founder of Evergreen Realty Group, LLC, a syndicator
of 45 real estate securities offerings including
tenants-in-common, Delaware statutory trusts, limited
liability companies and two private REITS. Since 1988, he
has been President of MacWest Capital Corporation, a real
estate management, development, and investment firm engaged
in the turn around and bankruptcy management of real estate
entities. MacWest Capital Corporation and its affiliates
were admitted during the late 1980s and early 1990s as the
substitute general partner and manager of 65 real estate
partnerships and a real estate investment trust. Mr.
McCarthy was the chief executive officer of a real estate
investment advisory firm that advised tax-exempt pensions on
real estate investments from 1986 to 1989. He was also a
co-founder and president of a real estate partnership
investment and development company from 1978 to 1988. From
1976 to 1980 and 1991 to the present, he has been in private
law practice (Pasadena, California) specializing in tax,
real estate, securities and bankruptcy. He is a California
certified public accountant. He is a graduate of California
Polytechnic University with a B.S. in Real Estate, Finance
and Accounting and holds a Juris Doctorate from University
of Santa Clara School of Law.
PERSONAL BIO:
Luke McCarthy is married to Lynn. They have lived in San
Marino, CA for the past 30 years. They have a son Bradford
McCarthy-married to Audrey in 2010 and a daughter Alison
Kolkebeck-married to Brian Kolkebeck and two grandchildren.
They belong to Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena and the
Jonathan Club in Los Angeles. He is a past member of Young
Presidents Organization and a member of the Rotary Club of
Pasadena. His hobbies include golf, history and bridge.
